WALTER SKOLNIK was born in New York City in 1934. He received music degrees from Brooklyn College and Indiana University. Dr. Skolnik served as composer-in-residence to the Shawnee Mission (KS) school district through the MENC-Ford Foundation Contemporary Music Project in 1966-68, and he later taught at Youngstown State University in Ohio. Many of Skolnik’s works are performed at campuses around the country and internationally, and many are on state contest lists. Skolnik’s music has been performed in Lincoln Center and supported by Meet The Composer and the NY State Council on the Arts.
